I think the same concept though. Youre not going to get a big NIL deal if youre not marketable. So you either need to be a 5-star or be "the man" wherever you are and hope your production leads to results on a national stage (i.e. the NCAA Tournament)

I think with basketball it will help mid-majors more than football due to the fan involvement at places like VCU or Butler or Grand Canyon. I imagine the NIL deals for VCU players during Havoc would have been substantial.

I think it will change recruitments of ghys like Joshua Hairston who was choosing between VT and Duke years back. He chose Duke but never really had a solid role there, but VT was a program he couldve had a larger impact and it would have been easier to sell that advertisers are more attracted to a known commodity than an unknown face of a known program.
